Seth R. Alexander

BIOGRAPHY
RECENT EXHIBITS AND AWARDS

Seth's interest in art began at 9 years old when he participated in a Saturday morning program for children at the St. Louis Art Museum.  At age 11, he created his first life size bust when artist and adopted father Norman Gulamerian bought him a large box of plasticine and an armature.

Upon graduating from high school, Seth was accepted at the Tyler School of Art in Philadelphia.  After two years, he transferred to the sculpture program at Syracuse University.  Since then, Seth has continued to study classical figure modeling with sculptor John Carbone.

Seth's primary focus is the human form.  His major influences are Michelangelo, Cezanne, Rodin, Matisse, Picasso and Gulamerian.  Seth has worked to integrate the movement of classical form with modern and geometric elements.
